My students with special needs live in a high poverty area, and often times they feel as if no one notices them or acknowledges their behavior. My hope is to use positive behavior techniques with incentives like snacks and supplies to show my students that we care about their future success. My students need and deserve this opportunity. My students live in a high poverty neighborhood with a lot of gang violence and aggressive behavior. Many of my students' parents work long hours, and my students have to fend for themselves. There are 1325 students at my high school and all of them deserve to be noticed, recognized and loved for who they are and all their wonderful qualities. My school is in an urban environment in the middle of the city.
