There is never a dull moment in my classroom. My students are energetic, and interesting. I enjoy the unique perspective they have, and their out-of-the-box approach to life. They are also very eager to learn. It is amazing how mesmerized my students are, when they are learning something new. Due to the extremely low socioeconomic status of our area, many of the students face daunting challenges, outside of school, on a regular basis. Our school does an excellent job of trying to help our students to overcome such challenges. For example, I am part of a group of teachers, who is participating in a program called literacy design collaborative, where educators are taught to emphasize literacy skills, across the various subjects, and are taught engaging activities and critical thinking strategies to help move our students to the next level. The project I am requesting these books for, is a literacy skills project, combined with the content of the class and character education.
