We are a class of twenty-six kindergartners. Our classroom is unique in that some of the students come from the rural areas of our communities while others live "in town." About a third of the students receive free or reduced price lunch. Throughout our day, we are working on numerous math concepts like one-to-one correspondence, counting by 1's and 10's, and basic addition and subtraction as well as learning to read and write by focusing on letter names and sounds and simple sight words.
