The students in this class all have Individual Education Plans (IEPs). When I arrived to teach math and reading in this Special Education classroom, I realized most of the reading materials were too difficult. These students are not reading even close to grade level. They need educational books at lower reading levels than the school has. These students have been so grateful for even small items in our class this year. Learning through books should be fun, but when you can't understand the text, you'll never want to read.
