My students are some of the most incredible people I have ever known. They overcome challenges daily and without fail, manage to put smiles on each person's face they interact with. They show compassion, patience, and kindness to everyone, and inspire others to do the same. Each day, they approach with grace and humor, tackling each obstacle that comes their way. My students genuinely desire to learn and grow, when others may choose to complain or become complacent. We are in a small, close-knit, rural community with a rich history, that faces challenges of poverty on every level from our schools to our homes. This limits the opportunities and resources that are available to students, hindering their growth and limiting their potential.
