My students are very bright and eager to learn. I have more students this year than any previous year I have taught ready to read. My goal is to promote and instill a love for reading, and for my students to be super excited about reading. However our current library is lacking all of that. It is very small and uninviting. All we have is one small book shelf and four plastic chairs. Some of my students do love reading and listening to stories and still spend time in our little library. However it is usually the same few students. I want all my students to be engaged and excited about reading. I feel that a large inviting, comfortable library will entice my students to read even more! I do have a lot of support from the families and staff just not enough funds to provide ample shelves and a nice carpet. I have been working with what I have in the past, but I learned of this great opportunity and would love to provide my students with an inviting classroom library! Thank you!
