The donations to this project will provide flexible seating in my classroom and will increase my students' ability to focus on their work and offer them more choices in the classroom. I will use this as an alternative seating in a group and offer every student the opportunity to choose a different seating and therefore increase attention and engagement. Right now, the choices for alternative seating in my classroom are a couch, a loft, and on a rug with clip boards. Students need to be able to sit where they can turn around easily, have a soft cushion, or on a floor if they want. I would like them to be able to have more seating choices than I am currently offering. With this project, I would be able to offer more choices. Having student choices in their work and where they sit are very important in creating a welcoming classroom environment. Choices give students more ownership in the things they are trying to accomplish. I have seen the increase in their excitement, engagement, and overall academic growth when students are given choices.
