These materials will allow my students to practice literacy and math skills during small group. The Match-A-Sound! Phonemic Awareness Boxes will provide objects that my students can manipulate to reinforce beginning, ending or rhyme sound recognition. The kit will also encourage language growth for my ELL students. The alphabet puzzle items will give my students the opportunity to work independently or with a partner to sequence the alphabet and match letter sounds to pictures. Kindergarteners need multiple opportunities to grow number sense. My students will be given a chance to grow this skill with the peg number counting mats, number sequence puzzles and the learn to count dough mats. Counting and number recognition needs to be a solid foundation before moving onto higher number operations. These items will provide concrete math practice that will foster number sense mastery.
