Our school is a building that houses only 4th and 5th grade in our community. There are about 450 total students and I am a Resource Teacher. My students are classified meaning that they have IEPs. My students struggle in reading because of the obstacles that they face. I stress each and every day the importance of reading and I am hoping that by the end of the year they will love reading! We do have leveled books in our building but because of the level my students can find success there are not many choices for them. They blow through most of them because of the limited content. Having a large quantity to choose from with high interest at their level will hopefully give them a chance to excel and build confidence that they need to be better readers.
