My school encourages students to be creative and productive users of technology to support their learning. A 3D printer would allow students to apply the coding they begin to learn and love in kindergarten to create an actual artifact in grades 3 and 4. Producing a tangible 3D outcome, and the process to get there, is comparable to publishing and sharing a written work. The 3D printer allows older students to hold what they create in their hands. Younger students are able to observe the printing process and be inspired. All students are exposed to the technology opportunities and possibilities that lie ahead.
