I am in my second year of teaching reading and language arts at an inner city school. This school is a very populated middle school consisting of grades six through eight. In my two years of teaching at this school, I have been lucky enough to work with a big group of sixth graders. Each day with my students is different. There are days where my students are engaged in lessons and are eager to learn. I then have days where teaching can sometimes be a challenge. There are days I am not only a teacher, but a mentor, listener, problem resolver, and just someone for my students to lean on. Many of students have been through more than I have and do not go home the best home life. I have some students where I am the only one who shows them any kind of love and motivation to succeed and keep reaching for their goals. With this being said, my students teach me something new each day.
