I am a big advocate for growth mindset and teaching my students how to be positive citizens in their community. Because 83% of our school's students are identified Economically Disadvantaged, they often come to school with many burdens, fears, and trauma. These challenges often times interfere with their mind and ability to focus in the classroom. I work hard to make ensure our learning environment is not only welcoming, but also a place my kids feel comforted and safe. We work on developing positive characters traits, studying others through videos and books. We talk through struggles and celebrate every achievement. I want my kids to know they have the potential to do anything they put their mind to, even with the challenges they encounter throughout their life.
