A large, colorful rug will provide a warm gathering space for morning meeting, mini-lessons, shared reading, partner work, and social skills lessons. Because this rug has designated sections, each student will enjoy his or her own space. The rug will enable students to efficiently work as partners, in small-groups, or as a whole class. I will be using the cart for my centers, and the chart holder for our daily vocabulary. This large rug will become the focal point of our classroom, providing a space to gather for instruction, build connections, and create a community of learners. The students we teach deserve to learn in a comfortable, cozy place they can call "home." Your support will help ensure our students feel a special sense of belonging when they enter our room.
