These special students are in from fully self contained classrooms. They have a variety of disabilities and needs but it never gets them down. They are funny, eccentric, capable and smart. While they do not have academic skills at the same level as other students their age, they want to have the same experiences as everyone else. Our community is diverse in both socioeconomic levels and cultural backgrounds. We have a homeless shelter and low income housing nearby as well as middle class suburbs in the area. The majority of students are from Asian-Pacific Island backgrounds but we also have smaller populations of latino, African-American and Caucasian students.

About my class
