The students I teach are so motivated but at the same time they are scared about taking the Texas state assessment. We take it in May. We have plenty of time to prepare for it. Our goal is high... 100% passing rate. It may be unrealistic to some but when I look at their sweet third grade faces each day, I can't expect any less. Because I teach 44 students (2 groups per day), the depth in what I can teach is so much more easier to do instead of having a self-contained classroom. I only teach math and science. We have so many books; however, not near enough hands on activities.
