National Board Certification is a voluntary, advanced teaching credential that goes above and beyond state licensure. Reviews of this certification clearly lead me to believe that it is one of the most reflective and meaningful professional developments. Upon successfully completing its rigorous certification process, I will be able to apply past experiences with newly acquired knowledge. I'm excited to be able to provide my students with more meaningful lessons, focused assessments, and deeper social-emotional connections. There are four components to this certification process and my plan is to complete component one (the content knowledge assessment) first, with the hopes of completing the other three components as well this year, if we can return to school safely. Without having in-person, face-to-face interactions, it will be hard to complete the portfolio portions. Thank you for checking out my project and supporting school teachers!
