Cushing Elementary is a 4K - 5 school with 435 students. The staff is collaboratively working on incorporating STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math), with an emphasis on Design Thinking, into all that we do. Design Thinking is the confidence that everyone can be part of creating a more desirable future, and a process to take action when faced with a difficult challenge. This ties directly to our new Makerspace. Our hope is to give our students the tools they need to create, design, and invent. The skills that we are trying to develop: critical thinking and problem solving, creativity and innovation, communication, collaboration, and entrepreneurship.

About my class
