We spend a good portion of our day broken into small groups to work on topics we've learned as a class. Groups are engaged in differentiated activities at which they take turns in set intervals. We will use the iPods as listening stations for literacy small groups. Their main purpose will be to provide a way for students to listen to pre-recorded books, to follow along with books on hand as well as books contained in multiple apps. They will also be used as consoles for games to build literacy knowledge and skill . This will be one of multiple stations each child will make use of daily to increase reading and phonemic fluency.
