My Kindergarten students are an ethnically diverse group of students from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds. I have five English Language Learners and the majority of my students receive free or reduced lunch. They are one of the brightest and most driven groups of Kindergarteners I have had the pleasure of teaching in my 20 years! I encourage them to work in cooperative groups and as partners to strengthen their oral language and cooperation skills. I am always looking for opportunities to give students the most innovative and inspiring resources to tap into their natural curiosity and learning styles. I am an advocate of hands-on learning activities that encourage higher order thinking and questioning. I hesitate to overuse Technology in my classroom because I believe that students are spending too much time in front of computer, TV, and gaming screens throughout the day. However, technology is an avenue for learning that motivates and captivates children!
