A whiteboard is a necessary classroom tool. By using a dry erase board, students and I are able to quickly and clearly present information, practice math problems, and convey ideas and concepts. Many of the instructional strategies that I implement in my classroom develop students' abilities to think critically, communicate effectively, and apply their learning in meaningful ways. However, students need a surface to accomplish such tasks. Math is a subject that needs to be visualized and explained. By connecting mathematical concepts with visual learning, students can explore their thinking through various lenses. Arts, diagrams, and visuals can further help students understand the larger concepts of units of study within our content area.
