We will be reading the Hate u Give as a middle school novel study. I teach in a predominately black school and this book could not be more relevant in my students lives. I plan to use the book as a tool to have open conversations about race and how to help my scholars navigate these troubling yet exciting times. I feel that now more than ever, it's time to read books that are relevant to my scholars lives and the Hate U Give is a book that is definitely relevant in today's world.
