My school is a rapidly growing suburban high school with a current enrollment over 1,750 students. We are the most diverse, comprehensive high school in the area with approximately 50% of students being from an ethnic minority. Many of our students face a variety of challenges. For example, 40% of our students receive free or reduced lunch, 10% or our population are English Language Learners, 15% of the student body qualify for Special Education services and 20% have one or more parent/guardians who are active duty military. At Timberline the variety of ethnicity, socioeconomic levels, and learning abilities are not seen as stumbling blocks. The students and staff view our diversity as a strength and our graduation rate is at an amazing 93%.
