Teaching nonfiction can be difficult when resources are limited. Scholastic News and Time for Kids are highly engaging and visual for my students. They help expose students to a variety of topics with appealing photographs and captivating headlines and facts. Scholastic news format is appealing for all readers. It allows the range of readers in my classroom to read what interests them. Best of all, students can take these magazines home and share their findings with their parents. These magazines will help my students engage with current events and happenings around the world outside their neighborhood! Our classroom does not have enough computers or ipads for students to access current events and news online. Many students do not have internet access at home. Scholastic News and Time for Kids will be used to help develop students reading comprehension.
