My wonderful students who are diverse learners consider our classroom to be a safe haven for learning. They are developing a love for reading and are very proud of themselves when they complete chapter books/novels. I always try to expose them to novels in which they can make real-life world connections. It is also important that the novels can be introduced via various modalities (especially audio books) and if possible we watch a movie or act out scenes from the book as a culminating activity. The requested bean bag chairs and books will help to enhance and foster their love for reading in a calm area within the classroom.
