At my school our students are made to S.O.A.R. Alternative seating arrangements will help my students and I reach that goal together. A lot of my students need extra encouragement throughout the day to stay calm and focused. Alternative seating will help provide that outlet for them, as well as enhancing their learning and participation. I am requesting a variety of flexible seating options for my students to best fit their learning needs. Items I am requesting include: seat bands, wobble chairs, bean bags, exercise ball chairs, and stools. All of these flexible seating alternatives are proven to work by allowing students a more flexible and adaptive learning environment. It is shown that children who participate in physical activity within the classroom show more on task behavior. I am very fortunate to work in a school where flexible seating can be an option. By providing this for my students I hope to give more control, choice, and responsibility. I hope to make my studnets SOAR!
