Our marching band students should have the opportunity to join the marching band and should have the same opportunities as students in the more economically advantaged areas. Other bands get the funds from parent support to purchase instruments and accessories that are needed for their students. Our band struggles with funds and most of the band is supported by student fund-raising. Giving these students the opportunity to excel in Marching Band can give them the push they need to obtain an acceptance to college or a scholarship for college that will make a big difference for the rest of their lives.
