My students are highly motivated, urban youth. Many are English Language Learners, but none of these labels change their joy for learning. We are in a historic building constructed for beauty, not sound dynamics. The classroom echoes with each whisper, never mind middle school voices. When they are working, it becomes uncomfortably loud and they struggle to focus.
