Welcome! My name is Jess Colby and I am the lucky one that gets to spend the day having a blast with a classroom full of five and six year old artists, engineers, philosophers, and scientists. Our classroom is made up of a diverse group, including several children who have identified special learning needs. As the great Mr. Rogers once said, "Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children, play is serious learning." In our classroom we work to reach important learning expectations and standards through hands-on, concrete projects, activities and challenges. Through this work, the children use all of their senses and body to not only learn new skills but to also to develop a love of learning.
