My classroom is made up of 22 diverse energetic kindergartners. They have already learned how to read each other's names and love the structure of school. My students take seriously the responsibility and ownership of the classroom. A favorite is when they are in charge of setting up the supplies for their group at math time as table monitor. We have a variety of languages represented in our classroom from Japanese to Russian. My kindergartners enjoy time to partner talk and play games together that support their learning. They are such a caring group. They notice when someone is sad or happy and then take action to help each other and play well together well. Our school is unique. We serve birth to kindergarten. The early learning focus allows us to focus all our resources to the developmental needs of our youngest learners. The learning that occurs in a school year for a kindergartner is an amazing sight to witness!
