Flexible seating has been shown to greatly increase student motivation and learning. This concept allows children to choose a spot around the room to complete work, and not have to be sitting at desks or tables all day. For young children, this can be a game changer! My students are very active and need to be able to move about and get comfortable in order to learn effectively. They love to lay on the floor while reading books or journaling. The lap desks will be useful during small group time, and the chairs and pillows will be wonderful for when they are reading/looking at books independently.
