My name is Marty Stachura, and I am the full time social worker at Pershing Elementary School. Students at Pershing refer to me as Mr. S. I am at BSD100 to ensure that our children receive quality education; I am here to help students address any interfering factors that come in the way of that quality of education. I work with individual students, small groups of students, as well as their teachers. My day is full of constant communication with students, staff, and families. I work on issues such as, self-esteem, anger management, conflict resolution, problems solving, and appropriate social skills.I firmly believe that as a social worker I can positively impact the future of children. When issues are dealt with at an early age and sound guidance is given, it cannot only mean more academic success but also a better quality of life. Who among us does not want this for our young people?
