I am requesting three wobbly chairs to help my students focus and increase their academic performance. Sensory items are very important in our classroom and we use them throughout the day! We have multiple sensory breaks throughout the day and my students use sensory items (play dough, weighted vest, seat cushions, etc.) to help them ease into the next activity. Sensory breaks help calm my students down and they really enjoy that time. The addition of wobbly chairs will help my students calm down, focus, and increase their academic achievement during whole group instruction (morning circle, Letterland instruction, math time and read alouds). My students with autism struggle on a daily basis to learn and I want anything that will make my students' lives better and easier. Any donated items will be greatly appreciated. The chairs will help my students since they are very active and like to move around a lot. During whole group instruction, we will use them so they are not sitting still for long periods of time. Also during choice time/free time, students will have an opportunity to sit on it and bounce and wobble back and forth. These wobbly chairs will help release their energy and they will be more excited to sit on the carpet. By donating to our classroom, our students will have more fun, be relaxed, eager, focused, and ready to learn.
