I teach high school students in 9th-Grade English and AP Research coursework. My classroom is a place where students grapple with rigorous texts, synthesize oft-contradictory ideas, challenge comfortable mainstream ideas, actively engage in anti-racist text analysis, broaden their perception of the world around them, and learn to engage the community and the world like the brilliant near adults they are. Each year, I try to make my classroom a little more conducive to this kind of challenging, non-normative work, and each year, Donors Choose helps me to do so. Thank you for taking the time to support my students and their powerful, important work. Teenagers are the SOLUTION to our nations problems. Let's give them the tools to change the world!
