The students at my school come from a small city with a rural backdrop. They come from a wide variety of socioeconomic levels. They are students who have just entered middle school and are still in that stage of being hungry to learn and do well because they know school is important. All of their young educational life, they have been made to memorize facts, names, and dates. That's all they know about social studies. I want them to leave my class knowing what history is, why we study it, and why it is a vital part of our curriculum.

About my class
