This Lakeshore Learning STEM bundle will make collaborative math and science learning a reality for my kindergartners. Right now, our science curriculum is limited to whatever we can scavenge or Google, and of course resources found this way are not always the best. My goal is to use this bundle, created by a trusted learning company, to bring engaging, quality STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) instruction to my kindergartners that will spark their imagination and introduce them to what STEM looks like in the real world! Through collaborative STEM projects, my students will gain 21st century skills, all while playing with their friends. This STEM kit includes materials and lesson plans for two science exploration stations, 3 fairy-tale based STEM projects, a chain-reaction experiment, and Beebot, a programmable robot! With these resources, my students will be introduced to the STEM design process as they plan, build, test, and revise their solutions to problems like building just-right chairs for the Three Bears or a bridge for the 3 Billy Goats Gruff. The reusable nature of these kits will allow my students to engage in meaningful, hands-on activities over and over again, year after year. And it is not just the bundle that is reusable; so are the skills and knowledge my students will gain. Someday, these skills in science, technology, engineering and mathematics will be just what they need to have a successful career.
