I teach in a wonderful rural Ohio School District that has recently initiated a 1:1 program. Which means that every student has a Chrome book on their desk. I have 104 students with about 10% being special needs students, and close to double that amount have been identified as gifted in some way. Our district is a unique blend of rural farmland and modern housing allotments. The 1:1 initiative has really leveled the playing field for many of our students. For some of them, it is the first piece of technology they have ever had in their homes. It is an amazing experience to see how this has enabled such different groups of kids to work together for the first time. They share, help, guide, and inspire each other daily in class. What an incredible thing to be a part of!
