Students can increase their chances of getting on grade level in reading through the use of art. I teach 9th and 10th grade students at a charter high school in a high need community, with most of my students qualifying for free lunch. My classes are all English/Reading intervention classes, which means my students are below grade level (more than three years) in reading. I have many special-education students.
