Welcome to the Laundry. My name is Mary Ann Andrecovich, a life skills laundry teacher at Drew Transition Center. I am preparing my students to learn life skills so that they can be as independent as possible after leaving school. My students are all cognitively impaired and range in age from 18-26. Some of the students also have autism. We primarily wash aprons, chef coats and rags for our cafeteria workers. We also wash the clothes of students who have had "accidents" during the school day. We provide a change of clothing for students as they need it. This is a practical class with valuable life lessons.
