We are a pre-k to 8th grade school. Our children are from many cultures. We have many languages spoken in our two half-day classes of 36 children. They are Spanish, Bengali, Urdu, Albanian, Arabic, Thailand, Bosnia-Herzegovina and English. We make sure to connect to people in our school that speak these languages in case I need to speak to the families. Our students love to be helpful, to please you and to make you laugh. We believe their parents try very hard to support their child in the classroom as much as they can. They work hard, have many jobs, and because of this we try to meet them half way in whatever they need from us, such as supplies, class birthday parties, and clothing- coats, gloves and hats. We purchased a coat for a child last year; our educational assistant, who works part-time in the evening at the store, through her employee discount was able to buy a long down coat. The single mother of 4 was very appreciative. We will continue the support this year.
