My students are the most wonderful students who appreciate anything they receive. They have very little in the class that is not provided by teachers. We work hard for our students but cannot afford to provide the listening center that they truly need. It would so be appreciated by the students. It would benefit them, so that they would be able to improve in reading during our intervention time. It would also help in the management of behaviors when students are having meltdowns because they have rough starts at home. Our expectation is to raise the level of ability in reading with these students to 80 percent. Currently the statistics are much lower than that for yearly progress. I would love for these students to have equal footing with other schools in neighboring areas. This would help in that direction.
