Although my students have been born into a world filled with technology, many do not have a way to access that technology in a way that improves their digital literacy. The goal of this project is to provide my nearly 100 students with regular access to modern technology in a professional atmosphere. Many are digital natives when it comes to social media, however they concede that they are not nearly as comfortable with laptops and professional software such as word processors and data applications. As students in a vocational-technical school, they understand the value of digital literacy and are more than eager to improve their acumen with technology. These students attend the largest school in Baltimore and truly represent the diversity of the city. They come from all over the city, with some commuting well over an hour on different buses and trains. Since they overcome so much to come to school, they deserve a modern classroom that will propel them to success now and beyond.
