My 1st grade students are vibrant, resilient, and dedicated. In our very low income and diverse population, an overwhelming amount of students face incredible struggles ranging from homelessness and poverty to parent incarceration. Though there is much to overcome, each student comes with the desire and enthusiasm for learning! Our classroom is a safe place for taking risks, building character, encountering and overcoming challenges, and, of course, making mistakes...LOTS of them! We love learning and growing through our struggles!
