100% of our students qualify for free lunch and breakfast. Our school demographics are 98% African American and 1% Hispanic and 1% Caucasian. We are currently on our fourth principal in four years. We have the highest student mobility rate in the state and our teacher turnover has been hovering around 35% every year. My AP Literature students are the best writers in the building, but they have consistently struggled to pass the AP Test. My students are every bit as smart and talented as those in the wealthier part of the county, but our population has been under-served educationally from Kindergarten to 12th Grade.
