My students are military children who live in Hawaii. They are resilient, passionate kids who love to learn. Solomon Elementary is a Title I school that consists of many students who come from low income families. A lot of the students have come into first grade reading below and well below grade level. Their parents want to help their children be the best readers they can be, but there is a significant lack of resources available to them. I print out paper books from the Internet, but it is very difficult to do this every week for 20 first graders.
