My students are creative, intelligent and capable. They all have been identified with various unique learning needs. Through hands-on/interactive learning experiences I have observed them to be more engaged with their learning experiences. Specifically, this is true when it comes to access to technology. My school site is one that is emerging. We are geographically situated in the poorest zip code in our region with the vast majority of families living under the poverty line. As a result, our students are limited with access to technology and thus knowledge for reasons beyond their own control. Our school site is taking active steps to further enhance our computer labs so that students can aspire toward technological proficiency. We place a high emphasis on the increasingly interconnected and globalized society in which we live.
