For the first time students have a Lego wall in their library space. I want to give them the opportunity to have fun with their creativity on the Lego wall and to work on cooperative activities with Lego task cards and coding sets. Makerspaces provide the opportunity for students to learn something new, explore, and just be creative. Students and families at my school are very academically focused and I would like to allow them the experience to step outside the rigor of academics and explore. In addition to regular library lessons, we will be doing many different kinds of makerspace activities this year with Legos being an ongoing theme that we can circle back to again and again throughout the year.
