My students can be best described as curious, creative, innovative, and kind. I teach PreK-5th grade visual art for 45 minute periods every day. I work in a Title 1 school in Georgia, and the student population is very diverse and most are low socioeconomically. Our school has a "family atmosphere" and a very supportive PTA who funds my budget. The administration values the art program and is very supportive as well. However, our school is not 1:1 yet with technology and there are not enough devices in our school to share across all grade levels.Our school recently became STEM certified. I would like to incorporate the Arts with STEM by having accessible technology in my classroom. My students need iPads to be able to document their artwork and create digital portfolios to share with families and to track growth and progress over time.
