I teach two dual immersion kindergarten classes, in Spanish, for students that need Spanish and English to be successful in school. I have taught in this school for many years now, and noticing that students were not performing well on tests and general schooling, administrators decided to use this method to advance the children in their native language, and also give them the opportunity to become biliterate. 50 students were chosen to be part of this program. Some students haven't had any schooling yet, however they had parents who were interested in this new way of learning for their children. Students are excited about this method of learning, and are making strides in both languages.

About my class
