Flexible seating helps support student learning, student engagement, self regulation, and what it means to be learning ready. Students are encouraged to work in an area that sets them up to be successful and fills their need to move around. Wobble stools allow students to wiggle, wobble, and move but also allows them to focus on their work. Their need of movement would be fulfilled and they would be able to concentrate more on their learning. I ask a lot from my students. To try their best, to never give up, to ask for help, and to be respectful to the other learners around them. The last thing I will ever ask is for them to sit still, in a chair, at a desk, and to stay quiet. I want them to explore, create, learn, socialize, support one another, and flexible seating tools help create this type of learning environment. I will always encourage my students to find their learning ready spots. A new set of wobble stools would be a perfect addition to our flexible seating tools.
