Research has shown time and time again that the best way for children to become successful readers is to increase the volume of just-right books they are reading. As an elementary teacher, I want nothing more than to inspire my young learners to become life-long readers. In third grade, students make a defining transition from their beloved picture books to a steady flow of chapter books. Currently, my library has been pieced together from years of teaching several different grade levels. I want to provide my young readers with a plethora of diverse, high-interest, just-right books. With the titles and series on my wish list, my students will be able to access engaging books at their level throughout the school year as they grow as readers. The characters they see in these books will reflect their own lives. I cannot wait for the girls in my class to get to read about the amazing unknown scientists of our country's past. I'm also looking forward to having more titles with diverse main characters to mirror the students in my classroom. My students need access to high quality literature that is engaging, memorable and inspiring. Please consider helping us out!
